Hi Amy,
Yes, for new constituents you can specify your own unique Import ID.
Please let us know how else we can help!
Thanks,
Jeff |

Hi, I'm trying to add our own import ID to gifts and Raiser's Edge is still assigning it's own ID on import. I have it mapped to Record Type - Gift field and Value type - Import ID. Thanks, Carolyn |

Hi, Carolyn, Please send an email to Support@omaticsoftware.com about the issue with the Gift Import IDs so that we can troubleshoot this for you. Please attach the following items to your email: * The data file you are importing * The profile you are using. To send the profile, right click on it in the list of available profiles and choose to export. Send the .xml file that is created. Also, please indicate your IOM version in your message. Thanks! Hi Carolyn,
You can assign your own gift import ids if you import the gifts directly. You can not assign your own import ids if you import to a gift batch - this is a Raiser's Edge restriction and RE will assign its own import id.

I tried specify the import ID but somehow the IDs got imported as oonstituent IDs, and RE auto-generated its own import ID. Should I send you my profile? Thanks, Amy |

Hi Amy, Before you send the file, what version of Import-O-Matic are you currently running? Best, Callie |

Hi Callie, We have 1.9.2.136 installed in our test environment and I used it to test the import ID. Thanks, Amy |

Hi Amy, Would you mind sending your file and profile (XML) file into Support. We would like to do some testing. Please send it to support@omaticsoftware.com. Thanks, Callie |

Do you not have a more secure method for asking for import files than an email attachment? I would not recommend it if it contains donor information - much too insecure. |
