San Francisco, CA (October 29, 2009) -“52% of respondents expect the recession to have a long term (2 years) or permanent negative financial effect on their organizations,” found Nonprofit Finance Fund in its survey of over 1,100 nonprofit professionals. 

The Chronicles of Philanthropy echoed this assumption when they exclaimed, “Researchers who compile Giving USA said that today’s recession most resembles the one in 1974, and it took three years after that downturn ended for philanthropy to return to the same levels of donations as before the economy soured.”
